Clarifications and Conditions of Use for the ampyfy Platform
April 1, 2025
These clarifications define the specific terms and conditions for using the ampyfy platform, including liability limits, applicable technical standards, and the interpretation of the features offered. Use of the platform implies acceptance of these provisions.
Definitions and Scope of Application
The terms used in these clarifications have the following meanings:
- "Platform" – the set of ampyfy software tools, including the vocal clarity engine, loudness standardizer, and quick editing suite.
- "Audio Content" – any sound file processed through the platform, including podcasts, voice recordings, and multimedia materials.
- "Loudness Standard" – the level of loudness measured in LUFS (Loudness Units relative to Full Scale), according to EBU R128 and ITU-R BS.1770 norms.
- "Background Noise" – any unwanted sound from the recording environment, including fans, traffic, room echoes, or electrical interference.
Limitations of Audio Processing Features
The platform's features are designed to optimize audio quality but do not guarantee the complete removal of all imperfections. The following limitations apply:
- Background noise removal may slightly affect voice naturalness in cases of very low signal-to-noise ratio (below 10 dB).
- Loudness standardization adjusts the integrated sound level but does not compensate for extreme dynamic variations caused by excessive compression in pre-production.
- Quick editing tools do not replace manual audio restoration processes for damaged recordings (clipping, digital distortions).
- Results may vary depending on the quality of the recording equipment and the acoustic conditions of the workspace.
Conditions for Using Technical Standards
The platform complies with industry loudness standards, but the user is responsible for verifying final compliance before publication. Additional details:
- The target value of -16 LUFS (integrated) is applicable for podcasts on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, but can be manually adjusted in advanced settings.
- Compliance reports generated by the platform are for informational purposes and do not constitute official certification from streaming platforms.
- Updates to processing algorithms may slightly alter results; periodic testing of new episodes is recommended.
- The platform does not store audio content after processing, except for temporary files necessary for operation, which are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
Liability and Warranties
ampyfy assumes no liability for direct or indirect losses caused by the use of the platform, including but not limited to:
- Rejection of episodes by streaming platforms due to non-compliance with other technical criteria (format, metadata, duration).
- Deterioration of audio quality due to incorrect user settings or inadequate equipment.
- Temporary service interruptions due to maintenance or external factors (cyber attacks, hardware failures).
- Unauthorized use of the account by third parties, in case of negligence in password security.
Final Provisions
These clarifications form an integral part of the General Terms and Conditions of Use for the ampyfy platform. Any dispute shall be resolved amicably, and in case of disagreement, the competent courts in Romania have jurisdiction.
